Elegant and beautiful Design!!!

First thing which will strike you the moment you take the phone out of the box is its stunning design. The front and the back are coated with nice shining glass layer and the sides are made of metal. The phone is quite similar to iPhone 4s in design and has a similar premium feel to it. It weighs in at 154 g which is light considering its metal construction. The screen is bright, crisp with good colour reproduction and comes with full HD resolution giving it breathtaking pixel density of 441 ppi.

True Octa Core Processor!!!

Canvas Knight comes with Mediatek MT6592TTrue Octa core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz. True Octa core because it can use its entire set of cores simultaneously and divide the CPU load equally among them thus saving battery and giving fast performance. It can also assign each core to different application thus allowing smooth multitasking. It comes with MALI 450-MP4 GPU which gives it superb gaming performance and multimedia capabilities.

16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera!!!

Canvas Knight comes with huge 16 MP rear camera and 8 MP front camera. Both come with the support for 1080p recording @30 fps. The rear camera also supports Auto-Focus, geo-tagging, face recognition and has LED Flash support. Micromax says the next generation M8 Largan lens ensures vivid image capture with its optically aligned lens framework that snaps crisp & clear images. Built on high-performance 1.34-micron OmniBSI-2™ pixel architecture, the sensor supports emerging standards in high-resolution video recording. The CameraChip™ sensors feature electronic image stabilization (EIS) which helps capture high resolution images in rapid succession.

Other features!!!

The phone comes with Yamaha amplifier and has stereo speakers which together provide loud and crisp audio. The audio on earphones is also very good. Gaming and watching multimedia content on the phone is a treat. The phone comes with dual sim support and has Bluetooth 4.0 and Wi-Fi but surprisingly NFC is absent. It also supports USB OTG allowing you to connect pen drives and hardrives to it.

Why would you love it?

There are ample reasons for you to love this phone right from the design, display, hardware and most importantly astonishing pricing of Rs 19,999(you can get it for even less). For roughly 19k you get Octa core processor, Full HD Display with pixel density of 441 ppi, 16 MP front and 8 MP rear camera. What else do you want at this price?

The phone is great performer and you definitely won’t get better performing phone in this range so it is a must consider if you are in the market for a new phone on a 20k budget. Apart from the goodness mentioned above there are few drawbacks like the non-removable battery and non-expandable memory (for some). Also the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi reception range is not that good probably it is because of metallic build. But nevertheless it’s a great phone to have for 20k which you will love to flaunt.

Pros

  • Octa core processor and Quad core GPU
  • 2 GB RAM and stunning display
  • Impressive camera performance
  • Solid premium built quality
  • Audio quality on speakers is impressive

Cons

  • Wi-Fi and Bluetooth reception is average
  • Non removable battery
  • Some apps crash due to non-optimization for Octa core
  • Phone gets Heated up while gaming.
